For the past 10 years I was the principal of Covenant Christian School in Mishawaka, IN. Covenant is a multi-denominational CSI school serving a varied population of students. They grew from 86 kids to 200 current students. A big joy for me was the development of the Spanish Immersion program which currently runs through 6th grade and brings a wonderful variety of cultures to the building. Covenant is state accredited and participates in a well-developed STEM science program.
I was the principal at Battle Creek Christian School for 9 years. Battle Creek Christian was a multi-denominational CSI school. We worked through growth and financial stability and developed a Young Fives program and early childhood licensing. We developed a one-on-one laptop program and participated in a variety of science opportunities for the students.
For the past 6 years I have been the CSI jurisdictional representative to the board of the INPEA (Indiana Non-public Educator’s Association). The INPEA is our non-public advocacy association to the state legislature. I very much enjoyed the opportunity to get to know the leaders in our faith based schools around the state and work on issues facing our schools.
I have a passion for Christian education and a desire to see our schools strong and stable for the next generation. I love to work with students and watch that lightbulb go on when a child finally understands. My hope is that students will grow academically, spiritually and socially so that they can serve God effectively in His world and see how God is going to use them for His kingdom.
